SOMERSET, PA – Today DeVilbiss Healthcare introduced its new portable oxygen concentrator – the DeVilbiss iGo® Portable Oxygen System. This lightweight, three-liter concentrator was designed to assist patients in maintaining an active lifestyle while reaping the benefits of oxygen therapy.
The iGo is the latest addition to an elite few portable oxygen concentrators on the market to offer two modes of operation – continuous flow and pulse modes. The iGo can operate in continuous flow mode from 1-3 LPM or in settings 1-6 utilizing DeVilbiss PulseDose® oxygen delivery technology. DeVilbiss PulseDose technology has been proven safe, reliable and effective in clinical testing as well as through independent tests performed by physicians and respiratory therapists.
“The continuous flow option in the DeVilbiss iGo provides a terrific option for patients and clinicians that prefer continuous flow while sleeping,” said Jim Clement, Director of Global Oxygen Products for DeVilbiss Healthcare. “During ambulation many users find PulseDose oxygen delivery more comfortable than continuous flow delivery systems.”
In addition, the iGo boasts a built-in DeVilbiss oxygen sensing device to ensure accurate oxygen delivery and a reduced periodic maintenance schedule. It has been put through aggressive durability testing to ensure consistent, reliable performance, according to Clement.
Weighing less than 20 pounds, the iGo Portable Oxygen System operates within an optional rolling carry case, featuring easy-access openings for cannula and the external power supply. Making it even more convenient, the iGo operates from three different power sources – Any AC Power Source (100V-240V), DC Power or Rechargeable Battery.
If the unit is operating on AC power and the power is interrupted, the iGo will automatically switch to battery operation.
“The iGo utilizes a battery that can last over 5 hours, operating at 1 LPM in PulseDose mode,” said Clement. “This is one of the longest-lasting batteries of any portable oxygen concentrator on the market.”
In order to ensure the most reliable performance, the iGo is designed to produce audible alerts in the event of Power Failure, Low Battery, Low Oxygen Output, High Flow/Low Flow, No Breath Detected in PulseDose Mode, High Temperature and more.
