LONGMONT, CO – DeVilbiss Healthcare announces the introduction of the DeVilbiss® 5-Liter Compact Concentrator (item # 525DS). This unit is 34% more compact than traditional 5-liter concentrators. Despite the reduction in size, the unit incorporates field-proven internal components for dependability. It’s noticeably quieter and includes the exclusive DeVilbiss OSD (Oxygen Sensing Device) as a standard feature on all units.
Unlike other compact concentrators that are currently available, the DeVilbiss 5 Liter Compact Concentrator features Turn-Down Technology which automatically turns-down the systems flow cycle when the lpm is set at or below 2.5lpm. The result is a 35% reduction in system pressure which reduces stress on the compressor bearings and internal fittings which may ultimately minimize wear on internal components thereby extending the life of the concentrator. Additionally, Turn-Down Technology reduces power consumption by 15% or more compared to competitive units to save patients money on electricity costs.
Advanced design features include capacitor-powered alarms (does not require a battery), a pressure-compensated flow meter to ensure accurate flow display, the unit can be used with up 50 feet of tubing and a 7 foot cannula , a recessed humidifier nook to prevent damage, readily accessible patient controls and a protected cannula fitting.
The DeVilbiss 5 Liter Compact Concentrator was designed to interface with the DeVilbiss SmartTrack® Concentrator Management System. The SmartTrack module connects to the concentrator and automatically performs an in-depth concentrator check in 2/3 the time it would normally take a technician to conduct. That module is then connected to a providers PC and the data is transferred to the SmartTrack software database which stores the concentrator record and patient information.
To ensure a robust and durable design the DeVilbiss 5 Liter Compact Concentrator was tested at high temperatures and high humidity conditions for extended periods of time. Additionally, DeVilbiss chose to use a proprietary sieve mixture, fill process and assembly.
Safety feature on the new concentrator include a pressure-relief valve and thermal protection on the compressor as well as a flame-retardant cabinet and a double-insulated two-prong plug.
DeVilbiss Healthcare develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad portfolio of respiratory products including oxygen therapy equipment, pulmonary drug delivery systems and sleep apnea therapy solutions.
