DeVilbiss Healthcare introduces the quiet and powerful Vacu‐Aide® QSU Quiet Suction Unit

SOMERSET, PA – September 4, 2012 – DeVilbiss Healthcare introduced today the latest addition to its airway suction device line – the Vacu-Aide QSU Quiet Suction Unit. With a more than 50% reduction in sound, the Vacu-Aide QSU is the quietest high flow/high suction portable unit on the market.

Without the added noise that can often intensify feelings of discomfort, the DeVilbiss Vacu-Aide QSU quickly, efficiently and safely evacuates secretions from a patient’s airway, eliminating the feeling of suffocation and allowing for improved respiration.

“The Vacu-Aide QSU provides the same DeVilbiss reliability and portability in a significantly quieter unit,” said Jim Clement, Director of Global Product Management - Respiratory Solutions for DeVilbiss Healthcare. “With a typical sound level of 55 dBA, this lightweight suction unit is extremely quiet, and the adjustable vacuum range makes it a smart choice for patients from newborn to adult.”

The Vacu-Aide QSU’s adjustable vacuum range (50-550 mmHg) meets the American Association for Respiratory Care’s guidelines for neonatal, infant, child and adult homecare suctioning. In addition, the new, innovative container assembly features an integrated bacteria filter that requires fewer connections, which helps to reduce the risk of leaks.

This small, lightweight yet durable suction unit can be operated while inside the included carrying bag. It is easily transported and can accommodate travel to any country. With a multitude of power options, including car/RV receptacle power and 60-minute battery, it can be used virtually anywhere under some of the most extreme circumstances.

“DeVilbiss Healthcare is proud to be able to provide such a quiet yet robust suction unit with unmatched performance and durability,” said Christine Brown, SVP of Sales & Marketing for DeVilbiss Healthcare. “The Vacu-Aide QSU performs consistently and provides optimal portability for improved quality of life.”

The Vacu-Aide QSU comes standard with a two-year warranty on the unit. For more information on the Vacu-Aide QSU, please visit www.DeVilbissHealthcare.com, contact your account manager, or call DeVilbiss Customer Service at 800.338.1988.
